Yea, fully blowing it on the skateboard related updates. I’ve been back to digging in the dirt working on the Durham park which has been rewarding as fuck, namely waking up before 1pm and being outside. But this post isn’t supposed to be about me, this is about this Steezmatic Mixtape that has been on my computer for a few weeks now. Originally that new clip was edited to a song from this combobulation of shit, but the Minor threat in me had to come out and replace the hip hop/techno mashupness.

So if you like all sorts of funky ass electronic music, crazy thrashy techno, hard rap, cheese rap, and rock and roll all mixed together in one big puke fest of shit, go download this mixtape and let the electricity destroy your sanity.

Dan Deacon is saving the world

Normally I go to certain music shows and get really bummed out on the fact that people are just listening to the music and standing the fuck around afraid to move their bodies, clap their hands, or even breathe too loud. That shit fucking sucks. When I go see someone perform some music I want fucking chaos and craze. Luckily there are people like Dan Deacon in this world who can instantly transform a room of strangers into best friends and get them to work in unison and create an amazing dance party.

I’d never crowd surfed before and it was always on my list of things to do. Mission accomplished. Just note to self, tighten your shoe lace belt tighter, crowd surfing is rad, except for when you kick people in the head, and if you hold on long enough people will throw you in the air, or maybe it’s just cause I’m one skinny bastard.

So what the fuck. I like Dan Deacon, he isn’t afraid to tell you he’s fucked some shit up and is an idiot for forgetting some electrical hookup, and he had everyone doing dance battles, mimicking the actions of one person, and creating a human tunnel that went from the inside of the Cats Cradle around the outside parking lot and back in, and you got to run through it and then be apart of the tunnel, then it collapsed upon itself and you ran back through it inside.

The mans a genious for his free for allness and if he ever comes near your hometown, drop everything and go see him perform because you will have a fucking blast.

I’ve never seen 99% of the 100+ people at a show dancing and going crazy, it was like a soft core mosh pit, well pretty hard core at times but people weren’t in the violent “I’m gonna smash the fuck out of you” spirit, it was more like a bump and grind and jump up and down and spin around happy spirit.

You know something is either great or shitty when people say: “What the fuck are we listening to?”. The party I heard this shit at was fucken incredible and had people leaving saying: “That was the best night of my life”. I guess when you find yourself climbing tall ass trees while being tossed glow sticks to decorate the limbs with, people are singing: “Tripping in a treehouse” while banging on the walls of it to make beats, girls run around to spread good vibes, and music is being created in all corners of the property good things can only come from it. The chorus to this song sticks in my head, and that’s a good thing. I originally first heard Spoon in a Jason Dill part a few years ago. Ever since then they have kinda become a cult classic for skateboarders, actually fuck that cult classic shit, I don’t even know what that means other than the fact that it’s rare to meet people who aren’t feeling these cats jams.

I heard this song on WKNC 88.1 a few hours before heading to NYC and couldn’t stop repeating the chorus on the trip. Thats awesome. So here you are friends… a free mp3 for your listening pleasure.

Toxic Holocaust

Even though a bunch of Campus Crusaders gave me a free snowcone today, I still love my Satanic metal.

I was never brought up religious. There is good and evil in the world and luckily I’ve realized as long as you keep your cool and try and not freak out on people when they trying to kill ya good vibes, all will be well.

Treat each other right, quit creating all these wars, and lets have a damn good time.

So where does this music fit in, who the fuck knows? All I know is this is a badass music video and Toxic Holocaust makes me want to slay the streets on my board and just get awesome.

The Mall is dead and rotting

When I think of the mall I get a sense of uneasiness. I always felt strange inside of em. I mean all this shit you could buy, but where was the place you could go and fuck shit up at?

Maybe it’s just my friends and I who would have so much more fun inside of an abandoned mall where you could smash in walls, build shit to skate, throw rocks through glass window displays, light a fire or two, and graffiti all over the walls.

Unfortunately this group out of San Francisco is no longer putting out music under the name “The Mall”, but I guess they’ve started a new group called Screens. I first heard their music through the Mash Trailer in which skateboard photographer Gabe Morford had a huge hand in.

Even if you think fixed gear bikes are retarded and lame, them shits is no fucking joke. I dare you to go bomb a hill on one of those things, no brakes too. Suicidal tendencies for sure.
